Unlocking the Invisible Cage for User Experiences

5 February 2013 No Comment

Despite new and powerful UI technology stacks, most developers are creating applications that look and feel the same as ten years ago, except for pretty colors and gratuitous animations. Like zoo animals when their cage is removed, they pace inside bars that no longer exist.

This session is a kick-in-the-pants challenge to do better. It begins with an analysis of the higher expectations of new users coming into the work force, because of their dependence on touch-based, intuitive UI in their personal technology. Then the session shows innovative business application examples and explains the design principles that make them work. Finally, attendees will receive a suggested strategy for transcending their past inertia on user experience development and breaking free into the possibilities inherent in new technologies such as HTML5 and XAML.
