HTLM5 and Java: The Facts and the Myths

This session discusses HTML5/JavaScript and the Java platform as complementary Web technologies for building robust Web applications. The HTML5/JavaScript Web browser platform introduces several new features that reflect the demands for rich, dynamic offline Web content. At the same time, the Java platform is evolving as a simpler, modular, rich multimedia, multilanguage ubiquitous runtime.

The session explores the key attributes of each technology—minus the myths and incorrect assertions—and discusses recent Java platform innovations for integrating HTML5/JavaScript and Java content on the Java platform.
